30 boys have been named to the 2013 N.C. Boys’ All-State Golf Team by the Tarheel Youth Golf Association and the Carolinas Golf Association honoring those junior golfers who have had the most success in amateur and junior golf events at the local, state, regional and national levels over the past 12 months.

The boys’ first team is led by Will Blalock of Gastonia, the 2013 N.C. Junior Boys’ Player of the Year.  Jenkins, a high school senior, won three junior tournaments in 2013 including the Junior North and South Championship and the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational.  In August, Blalock was selected to represent the Carolinas Golf Association in the Virginias-Carolinas Junior Team Matches.  Also named to the first team are Eric Bae of Cary, Thomas Eldridge of Raleigh, William Gordon of Davidson, Benjamin Griffin of Chapel Hill, David Kocher of Charlotte, Tanner Owen of High Point, Doc Redman of Raleigh, William Register of Burlington and Ben Schlottman of Advance.

Second team:  Timothy Conover of Holly Springs, Stephen Franken of Raleigh, Alex Hefner of Conover, Dong-Jun Kim of Waxhaw, Will Minton of Raleigh, Hunter Oxford of Charlotte, Archer Price of Gastonia, Davis Richards of China Grove, Patrick Stephenson of Four Oaks and Thomas Walsh of High Point.

Third team:  Patrick Cover of Huntersville, Blake Fiest of Huntersville, Preyer Fountain of Raleigh, Harrison Frye of Gastonia, Austin Harrill of Hickory, Joshua Martin of Pinehurst, Jonathan Rector of Hendersonville, Ross Robison of Wilmington, Stephen Saleeby of Raleigh and Wesley Simmons of Goldsboro.

To be eligible, boys must have played in a minimum of five TYGA N.C. rankings events in 2013.  The awards were determined by a combination of each player’s scoring differential and the total points earned in the rankings events.

These outstanding juniors will be honored at the N.C. Junior Golf Night Awards Banquet on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Pine Needles Resort in Southern Pines, NC.
