Keith Hills CC to Host 7th TYGA State Championship

 
The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) has announced the 2016 TYGA State Championship will be hosted by Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, NC.
 
The 36-hole stroke play event is scheduled to be played on October 8-9, 2016. The boys’ only event is open to the first 60 junior boys and first 30 junior girls ages 18 and under who have not started college. This event will be used for TYGA and Junior Golf Scoreboard junior rankings and for the Carolinas Junior Player of the Year award.
 
On the banks of the Cape Fear River, you’ll find one most picturesque golf courses in The South. It is the home of Campbell University’s golf course — the Keith Hills Golf Club. Keith Hills has earned some prestigious distinctions, described by prestigious industry publication Golf Digest as a “Four Star Award” and “one of the top 100 values in the country.” Keith Hills Golf Club, located in Buies Creek, North Carolina, creates a complete Campbell University golf experience in a relaxed atmosphere along the scenic Cape Fear River. Campbell University’s golf teams, the Fighting Camels, have called this course home. It is also the home facility for the PGA Golf Management Program, training the young men and women who will lead the golf industry for years to come.
 
Registration opens for TYGA members on Monday, August 29th at 8 pm and for non-members on September 5th at 8 pm.  Registration closes on October 2nd.
 
DATES
October 8-9, 2016

 
FORMAT
The championship format is 36-hole individual stroke play.
 
AGE DIVISIONS
Boys and girls will compete in one division based on their gender.  There are no age divisions. 
 
YARDAGES
Boys’ will compete from black tees (6,625 yards, par 72). 
Girls’ will compete from mix of orange and white tees (5,700 yards, par 72).
 
PRIZES
Trophies are awarded to the top five places in each division.
 
COURSE ROTATION
Play will be on the Orange and Black nines.
 
ACCEPTANCE
The first 60 boys and 30 girls to enter gain entry into the championship on a first come first serve basis.
