Longleaf Golf & Family Club to Host TYGA N.C. Middle School Championship
 

 
Southern Pines, NC – The Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) is excited to announce that Longleaf Golf & Family Club will be the new host of the TYGA N.C. Middle School Championship on September 30, 2017.

 

The 18-hole stroke play event is scheduled to be played on September 30th. This event is open to the first 18 teams and first 12 individual entry forms to reach the CGA office after the opening entry date. All members of a team must attend the same middle school. A middle school student is defined as a student who is in grades 6-8 during the current school year. Home-schooled players and private school students and teams are allowed.
 
Registration closes for The TYGA N.C. Middle School Championship on September 22nd at 5:00 pm.
 
DATES
September 30, 2017

FORMAT
The championship is conducted at 18-holes of stroke play. All players, regardless of gender, will play from the same tees. Each team must return two individual 18-hole scores per day to qualify for the team championship. Team and Individual competitions are run concurrently.  On-course playoffs to determine individual champion(s) and/or team champions will be used when the need is identified.  Players are responsible for making themselves available. 
 
YARDAGES
All play will be from approx 5,510 yards.

                                              
ELIGIBILITY
All members of a team must attend the same middle school. A middle school student is defined as a student who is in grades 6-8 during the current school year. A maximum of four players may represent a school. However, if no girls are on the team, that school is limited to three participants.  Home-schooled players and private school students and teams are allowed. Entries are subject to rejection at any time, including during the event, by the TYGA or the host club.  Schools being represented by teams may also register 2 additional individuals.  These individuals will be placed on the alternate list and will be accepted after the closing date if space is available and there scores will not count toward the team score.  Additional individuals must register using the entry form for individuals and submit separate entry fee checks.  The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.

  
PRIZES
Trophies will be awarded to the championship team; all members of the championship team, the individual boys’ champion and the individual girls’ champion. Any ties for these positions will be broken by an on-course playoff as soon as the need is identified. Players are responsible for making themselves available for any playoff they may be involved in.
