The Greenville course was built in 1923 as a 9-hole golf course. In later years, the course transitioned into an 18-hole facility.  In 1993, golf architect John Lafoy engineered a major renovation, and the course reopened in October 1994. The course, with its tree-lined fairways and champion Bermuda greens, offers a challenge for all skill levels. The Greenville course has hosted numerous Carolina Golf Association events, state championships and qualifiers. This will be Greenville CC's first time hosting the TYGA Coastal Plains Junior.

The championship format is 36 holes of stroke play. The 11 and under division will play only nine holes per day.

Entry is open to any male or female amateur golfer ages 8 to 18 as of June 29, 2018, who has not started college, and is a legal resident of North Carolina. Entries are subject to rejection at any time, including during the event, by the TYGA or the host club.
