McConnell Golf and the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) are proud to announce the inaugural N.C. Girls’ High School Invitational on Saturday, October 11, 2014.  An anticipated field of 15 teams (60 junior golfers) from public and private schools from across North Carolina will compete on TPC Wakefield Plantation’s Plantation course.  The 9-hole Plantation Course is located next the Sports Club and measures 2,700-yards long at a par of 35 featuring three par-3s, four par-4s and two par-5s.

“McConnell Golf and TYGA have partnered to conduct the N.C. Boys’ High School Invitational for the past 8 years and we both felt that with the growth in girls’ high school golf, it was time to create a sister event during the fall for the girls’ teams” stated Jason Cox, Director of Junior Golf with the Carolinas Golf Association.  Cox added “TPC Wakefield Plantation’s Plantation course is perfect for this event.  I really think the girls will enjoy this event”.

Registration for this event will open on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.  For more information about the NC Girls’ High School Invitational and other TYGA events, please visit the TYGA’s home page online at www.tygajuniorgolf.org.
